One of our customers, a major Australian retailer with more than 100 stores nationwide, was experiencing delays in their dispatch process due to using separate pallet wrapping machines and weighing scales. This two-step system led to workflow inefficiencies, increased manual handling, and slowed down dispatch efficiency in their busy distribution centre.

To resolve this, Gateway Packaging implemented a customised solution supplying and installing two Paxum® X100 Fully Automatic Pallet Stretch Wrap Machines with integrated weighing scales. By combining two critical steps into one streamlined process, the retailer was able to reduce manual handling and accelerate their dispatch workflow.

Now wrapping 30 to 40 pallets per hour, the retailer has seen a significant improvement in efficiency and consistency. The built-in scales provide accurate weight data during the wrapping cycle, improving logistics compliance and removing the need for a separate weighing station. Features such as automatic film attaching and cutting reduced manual intervention, while the photoelectric sensor ensured accurate height detection for various pallet loads enhancing wrap precision and reliability.

As a result, the distribution centre now operates with greater speed, accuracy, and productivity supporting the demands of a growing store network and high-volume dispatch environment.
