A leading Australian fresh produce company, with over 130 years of industry expertise, recently set out to improve the efficiency of their pallet strapping process at their Curlwaa site. Manual strapping was creating a bottleneck, especially during harvest time—slowing throughput, demanding extra labour, and compromising pallet load consistency —especially during peak harvesting seasons.
To overcome these challenges, Gateway Packaging conducted a full review of their packaging and despatch systems and recommended the TS-733H Horizontal Pallet Strapping Machine. This advanced, high-speed machine is ideal for demanding environments across agriculture and other industries. To support the scale of operations, two machines were installed—one in each shed—bringing automation and efficiency directly into the heart of their packing facility.
Designed for performance, the machine can strap up to 60 pallets per hour using three parallel straps. It also includes features that support flexibility and precision: memory for 15 strapping patterns, quick-change settings for various package types, and a real-time sensor monitoring system to maintain consistency. To further support safe operation, a safety rack was installed beneath the arch—minimising access to hazardous areas and reducing the risk of falling objects.
With this upgrade, the business now operates more efficiently, with faster throughput, safer processes, and reduced manual handling. Gateway Packaging’s tailored approach ensured a smooth transition to automation, reflecting its ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern industry.
